Can Tho half-day tours
About this experience
Set at the confluence of the Can Tho and Hau river, and crisscrossed by tributaries, canals and waterways feeding life into the region like veins, Can Tho is the political, economic, cultural and transportation centre of the Mekong Delta. Thanks to its tremendously fertile soil, Can Tho is one of the largest agricultural producers in the Delta, often referred to as Vietnam’s rice basket, and has a poetic beauty with well-off villages nestled under shade of coconut trees.
Floating markets may easily be the best attraction in Can Tho, since it is a full display of vivid local life on water. Cai Rang and Phong Dien Floating Markets are two of the major markets, not only in Can Tho but also in the Mekong Delta. Weaving the wooden boat in between ships heaped with fruits and vegetables and smaller boats selling anything and everything from banh mi and noodle soup to lottery tickets; this experience will provide you with further insight into a livelihoods and culture fully dependent upon the river. There’s nothing quite like flagging down a floating cafe and enjoying a strong, sweet cup of Vietnamese coffee while watching the sale of 20 kilos of dragonfruit.
A range of half-day tours are designed for those who have limited time but wish to fully experience the beautiful landscape, friendly people and rich culture of the Mekong Delta. Each program includes selected highlights of the region but will be delivered to you through different angles and fun activities such as cycling and boat rowing. Join us for a unique and authentic rustic experience in the agricultural heartland of Vietnam.
Your positive contribution
Improve Community’s Standard of Living and Encourage Cultural Exchange
By choosing this tour, you directly support conservation of local communities living around Mekong Delta, while driving employment opportunities and income for families of Cai Rang and Mekong Delta’s surrounding area. The program provides community members with practice skills in the hospitality trade and with tangible assets such as quality Rustic and homestay facilities. The tourism skills and hard assets allowed local community people to more effectively participate in the tourism chain value.
Our travel programs encourage all travelers to bring with them their favorite novel with their personal thoughts written in the books to donate to schools. These are words of hope and form the basis of cultural exchanges between differing nations. Books could be given to our team members at registration, and the team shall consolidate them and distribute to the schools quarterly. School children in Cai Be and Mekong Delta will benefit from this travel program. The books encourages literacy rates and hence allows the children or future leaders of the world to make informed life choices as their knowledge, imagination, and horizons broadens.
