Refill My Bottle was started in Bali as a group of sustainable businesses on this beautiful island teamed up to create a network of water refill stations called RefillBali. It was an initiative to make Bali a refillable island – in which filling up your water bottle from one of the refill stations is an everyday thing. The initiative has been gradually adapted and spread to neighboring islands and other countries and changed its name to RefillMyBottle. To map the initiative, RefillMyBottle has published an easily accessible google map of all places where you can refill your water bottle.
RefillMyBottle is a great showcase of the tourism industry making a commitment to preserving the environment. Good news is Refill My Bottle is going to expand to Vietnam thanks to EXO Foundation and KHIRI Reach as part of IMPACT Vietnam. One of our fellows in responsible tourism, the Hanoi-based Responsible Tourism Club, also supports the campagin. Cafes, hotels, travel offices and many other businesses are welcome to join the RefillMyBottle initiative, with the official launch on 29th of August in Ho Chi Minh city.
If you are interested in leading this initiative in your local community, please do not hesitate to contact them at firstname.lastname@example.org.
To all refillers, you can now find RefillMyBottle water stations in more than 9 countries. Checkout the refill map at www.refillmybottle.com or download the app here. Follow their Facebook page to stay informed on news and events.
